Horse Owners

Healthy Horses, Clean Water

To provide for a healthy, long, and sustainable balance between horses, humans, and the land, care must be taken not to over use our natural resources. As human populations increase in Southern Oregon’s Illinois Valley, local attention to conservation issues becomes increasingly important. IVSWCD’s Healthy Horses, Clean Water Program offers resources and assistance for enhancing and protecting the Illinois Valley for use by horses and humans for years to come.

The Illinois Valley SWCD’s Healthy Horses, Clean Water Initiative’s Vision is for a community where humans and horses live in balance with the environment.

In realize our vision, we will provide ways for Illinois Valley horse owners to engage in positive stewardship of their horses and their land. The Illinois Valley Soil and Water Conservation District offers educational resources for horse owners and host an annual educational workshop for Valley Horse owners. We also strive to help fund projects that improve natural conditions in horse pastures and surrounding areas.
