Calling all horse owners!
Local horse lovers are invited to discuss equine health, pasture care, reducing mud and manure, and more at the Healthy Horses Clean Water Workshop. On Saturday, February 11th, the Josephine County Building in Cave Junction will open from 10 am to 3 pm for presentations and demonstrations aimed at connecting horse owners with ideas for caring for their animals. Illinois Valley Soil and Water Conservation District hosts the annual event.
“The theme for the workshop is ‘Love Your Horse’,” explains IVSWCD Special Projects Coordinator Nancy Smebak. “It’s a chance for people to meet their neighbors, get information about how to take care of their horses, and hopefully have some fun. The IVHS Equestrian Team is bringing their horses for a demonstration, and there’s a session on Equine Massage.” Though the workshop is free, pre-registration is appreciated. Contact the district at 541-592-3731 for more information or to register.
