Where We Serve
The Illinois Valley Soil and Water Conservation District (IVSWCD) and Illinois Valley Watershed Council serve more than 500,000 acres in the Siskiyou Mountains in southwestern Oregon. The Illinois Valley watershed is located in southern Josephine County, with a northern portion of the district extending into an uninhabited portion of Curry County. Nearly eighty percent of the District is composed of public land.
The Hayes Hill crest marks the northern boundary of the District along Highway 199, and the California border forms the southern boundary. The District includes the City of Cave Junction, the towns of Selma, Kerby, O’Brien, and the communities of Holland and Takilma.
The Illinois Valley Soil and Water Conservation District’s board is composed of seven Directors, five of whom represent 5 District zones and 2 who serve At-Large. You can download a copy of the IVSWCD Zone Map. State regulations require that each of the 5 zones is represented by a Director who either owns or manages at least ten acres in the zone represented.
